Indo-Pak armies exchange fire along LoC in Uri, Nowshera | KNO

Uri, Apr 07 (KNO): The armies of India and Pakistan Tuesday evening exchanged heavy gunfire at Hajipeer sector of Uri in north Kashmir's Baramulla district and in Pukharni and Lam areas of Nowshera sector. According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), an official said that Pakistani rangers this evening at about 07:05 pm resorted to unprovoked firing in forward posts. He said that the rangers of Pakistan Army targeted the forward posts of Indian Army in Hajipeer sector of Uri, adding that there was a heavy retaliation from the Indian Army unit deployed there. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla, Abdul Qayoom while confirming it to—KNO, said that no reports of loss of life or injury was received so far and heavy firing is going on both the sides. Meanwhile, officials said that on Tuesday evening at around 08 PM, cross LoC firing started in Pukharni and Lam, both forward areas, in Nowshera sector. "Both small arms as well as mortars are in use and a number of forward locations are affected with cross LoC firing and shelling,” the officials added.
